2019 The Bacon Beatdown

Standards — Olympig

This is a straightforward lifting floater.

Hang Snatch- The bar must start at the hips, and travel no lower than the knees before being snatched overhead in one smooth motion. Athletes may squat or power, but the lift ends with the elbows, shoulders, knees, and hips locked out with the feet and bar in line with the body, with the bar under control.

Snatch- This snatch comes from the floor. All the above rules apply.

Workout example — Individual

Athlete begins with a hang snatch at 155. Hang Snatch Score = 155 Floor Snatch Score = 0 Total Score = 155

Next lift, a hang snatch at 165. Hang Snatch Score = 155 + 165 Floor Snatch Score = 0 Total Score = 320

Next lift, another hang snatch, 175. Hang Snatch Score = 165 + 175 Floor Snatch Score = 0. Total score = 340

Next lift, from the floor, 165. Hang Snatch Score = 165 + 175, Floor Snatch Score = 165 Total Score = 505

Next lift, from the floor, 185. Hang Score = 165 + 175, Floor Score = 165 + 185. Total Score = 690

Athlete then runs out of time. Final score = 165 + 175 + 165 + 185 = 690

For teams, the same methodology applies, but they only get 1 score for Hang Snatch and 1 score for Floor Snatch. Team score is the total of all 3 partner’s best lifts.

Example: Teammate 1: Hang: 150, Floor 150 = 300

Teammate 2: Hang 100, Floor 140 = 240

Teammate 3: Hang 160, Floor 100 = 260

Total Team Score: 300 + 240 + 260 = 800
